Our Steam Water Spray (SWS) Retort delivers precise thermal sterilization using a combination of direct steam injection and superheated water spray. With steam rising from the base and fine water sprays from the top and sides, the process ensures uniform heat distribution, faster come-up times, and consistent product safety—batch after batch.
The SWS retort follows a controlled, multi-phase batch process:
Preheat: Preheat water in a storage tank.
Come-Up Fill: Base water level filled and preheated.
Come-Up: Circulation pump activates; temperature ramps to cook setpoint.
Cook: Precise control of temperature, flow, and pressure for uniform sterilization.
Pressure Cool: Retort water cooled via plate heat exchanger using chilled water.
Atmospheric Cool: Final temperature drop without overpressure.
Drain: Water gravity-drains from vessel, optionally aided by compressed air.
